Real Estate segment offers capital and investment solutions, including equity capital for acquisition or development, as well as mortgages for new acquisitions or re-capitalizations of commercial real estate. It also finances for the acquisition, refinancing, and renovation of office buildings, apartment buildings, retail facilities, hotels, parking facilities, and industrial properties. Energy Financial Services segment provides structured equity, debt, leasing, partnership financing, and commercial finance to the energy and water industries. It also engages in gathering, processing, transporting, and marketing natural gas and gas liquids. GE Commercial Aviation Services segment involves in commercial aircraft leasing and finance; and delivering fleet and financing solutions for commercial aircraft. It also co-sponsors an infrastructure private equity fund that invests in infrastructure projects, as well as offers products, including leases, debt, and equity investments to the marine, rail, and intermodal transportation industry. The company was formerly known as General Electric Credit Corporation and changed its name to General Electric Capital Corporation in November 1987.
