This segments products include cleansers, dressings, hydrogels, calcium alginates, moisture barriers, antimicrobials, and a hydrogel wound dressing with Lidocaine, as well as other products, which reduce destruction to skin and tissue caused by radiation, and to reduce pain and itching caused by radiation reactions in the skin and the internal mucosa caused by radiation reactions or reactions to certain cancer medications. Its wound care products are used for the treatment and healing of wounds, such as pressure ulcers, leg ulcers, cuts, burns, and abrasions, as well as to manage pain associated with these wounds in the acute care, long-term care, oncology, and podiatry markets. This segment distributes products to hospitals, nursing homes, clinics, pharmacies, and home health care agencies through medical/surgical supply dealers and pharmaceutical distributors. The company was formerly known as Royal BodyCare, Inc. and changed its name to RBC Life Sciences, Inc. in June 2006. RBC Life Sciences, Inc. was founded in 1988 and is headquartered in Irving, Texas. |
