澳洲Banker曾休假108天 公開信引起共鳴

人生在世，有咩開心得過放長假呢？你自問最長放過幾多日假期？

為公司拼搏，有時候也要為自己生存。

話說澳洲Macquarie Bank一名高級主管Dean Firth，辛辛苦苦做了25年，為了多點陪家人遊山玩水，自言曾經放過自己一個安息長假（ sabbatical leave ），足足放108日。

去年12月Firth於職場網站上發表公開信，解釋自己放假的原因，日前獲傳媒報道，引起了不少打工仔共鳴。

對很多工作至上的打工仔來說，放長假是不可思義的。一畢業出來，轉眼間就10年無放長假，有時可能是因為有假不能放，有時是因為公司沒有安息長假政策，有時是根本沒有假期，公司政策年年轉，偶爾就要你清假。

Firth也是其中一個，他解釋，過去25年，工作一直比家庭優先，所以放安息長假，是真的想為家人放一次～～

My decision to take the sabbatical was the result of many factors but was particularly motivated by my reflection around the importance of time and choice. Throughout my career I have often prioritised work over family and whilst I am at peace with these choices I wanted to make this choice for my family this time. Time is undoubtedly our most precious commodity and whilst our 2 children were still young enough (and they think I am still cool enough to hang around with), I particularly wanted to spend this stretch of uninterrupted time with them.

108天休假，一半時間陪了在兩名小孩身邊，自己也順道發展一下新興趣。

最後Firth說出了重點，他感謝有一位上司，無條件支持他放假。

小編覺得，Firth是太好運了，坐上了好位置，遇到好上司和不計較的同事；小編見過有傳媒機構容許記者放兩個月長期，結果就得罪咗成Team同事～～
