Sony to Leverage AI in its Quest for Cloud Gaming, but CEO Kenichiro Yoshida Expresses Concerns
Sony Group Corp (NYSE: SONY) CEO Kenichiro Yoshida warned against the tricky prospects of cloud gaming.
The company proposes to explore streaming game options over the internet and leverage its artificial intelligence agent GT Sophy to enhance cloud gaming, the Financial Times cites an interview with Yoshida.
He cited latency, the fast response times gamers demand as the most significant issue.

Many gaming users are yet to switch from a console or high-end gaming PC to streaming games entirely over the internet, fearing slowing internet connectivity and server speeds.
Yoshida acknowledged capitalizing on the challenging times to hone its AI skills.
Yoshida flagged the costly inefficiencies of cloud gaming, with servers remaining idle for much of the day before having to cope with the high levels of traffic of gamers playing during the evening or "dark time."
Microsoft Corp's (NASDAQ: MSFT) $75 billion Activision Blizzard, Inc (NASDAQ: ATVI) takeover deal has rattled the global gaming industry amid Microsoft's cut-throat battle with Sony for dominance of console gaming.
The agreement could make Microsoft the third-biggest gaming company by revenue, behind China's Tencent Holding Ltd (OTC: TCEHY) and Sony.
Price Action: SONY shares are trading lower by 1.38% at $96.66 on the last check Monday.
