Here’s Why Cheniere Energy (LNG) Declined in Q4

ClearBridge Investments, an investment management company, released its “ClearBridge Global Infrastructure Value Strategy” fourth quarter 2022 investor letter. A copy of the same can be downloaded here. In the fourth quarter, on a relative basis, the strategy underperformed as measured against the S&P Global Infrastructure Index. (NYSE:LNG) is an energy infrastructure company. On March 2, 2023, Cheniere Energy, Inc. (NYSE:LNG) stock closed at $163.32 per share. One-month return of Cheniere Energy, Inc. (NYSE:LNG) was 10.48%, and its shares gained 16.97% of their value over the last 52 weeks. Cheniere Energy, Inc. (NYSE:LNG) has a market capitalization of $39.802 billion.

ClearBridge Global Infrastructure Value Strategy made the following comment about Cheniere Energy, Inc. (NYSE:LNG) in its Q4 2022 investor letter:

"U.S. energy infrastructure company Cheniere Energy, Inc. (NYSE:LNG) was the largest detractor from quarterly performance. Cheniere owns and operates U.S. liquefied natural gas export facilities along the U.S. Gulf Coast. Shares were down along with moderating natural gas prices."
