The MSCI index for Latin American currencies gained 0.7% after dropping 1.9% on Tuesday and posting its worst daily performance in over a year.

Mexico's peso led Latin American currencies lower with a fall of 2.0%, briefly crossing the 17 to the dollar mark and trading at a nearly two-month low.
