The stock market has had a strong February, with all three indexes posting their largest gains since 2023, even as inflation data continue to raise concerns about when the Federal Reserve will be able to start to cut interest rates. The S&P 500 Index closed up 250.62 points, or 5.17% this month, to a new record close of 5096.27. The Nasdaq Composite Index ended the month up 927.91 points, or 6.12%, to 16091.92, also a new record close and its first record close this year.
