It’s a development that’s likely to spur speculation about a potential initial public offering by the leading generative artificial intelligence company. Until recently, Friar had been CEO at the local social media company NextDoor, where she was succeeded in the top slot by the company’s co-founder, Nirav Tolia. Friar previously served as chief financial officer at Square (now known as Block), and before that as senior VP for finance and strategy at Salesforce.com Earlier, she spent 10 years at Goldman Sachs where she worked as a technology analyst covering the software sector.
