Microsoft offers cloud customers AMD alternative to Nvidia AI processors
Microsoft said on Thursday it plans to offer its cloud computing customers a platform of AMD artificial intelligence chips that will compete with components made by Nvidia, with details to be given at its Build developer conference next week. Microsoft's clusters of Advanced Micro Devices' flagship MI300X AI chips will be sold through its Azure cloud computing service.

Nvidia Stock Couldn’t Close at a Record High Ahead of Earnings
Nvidia stock finished lower on Thursday after being on track to set a record high as optimism rises around the chip maker ahead of its earnings report next week. Nvidia shares closed down 0.3% at $943.59 on Thursday. The marketwide rally sparked by April’s inflation data on Wednesday lifted Nvidia shares along with a raft of upbeat analyst estimates ahead of the company’s first-quarter results on May 22.
