CORRECTED-Sempra revisits choice of Bechtel on Cameron LNG expansion to cut costs, sources say
Sempra LNG is revisiting its selection of Bechtel to build its Cameron LNG expansion project in Louisiana due to rising construction costs, two people familiar with the matter told Reuters. The Sempra-Bechtel pricing dispute reflects a broader hike in construction and labor costs that are affecting several U.S. liquefied natural gas (LNG) export projects under development and threaten to further delay others. Sempra "has gone back out for an EPC (engineering procurement and construction) contractor for its expansion project," one of the people familiar with the matter said.

UPDATE 1-US electric utility Sempra's profit falls 17% in first quarter
Sempra Energy posted a 17% drop in first-quarter profit on Tuesday as it logged sharply lower revenue from its natural gas operations, although increases in its Texas power business helped cushion the fall. Sempra, which supplies electricity and natural gas to nearly 40 million customers in parts of California, Texas and Mexico, said revenue from its natural gas utilities fell more than 50% from a year earlier to $2.11 billion. Profit at the company's California utility dropped 5.8%, while its electric sales fell to 935 million kilowatt hours (kWh) from 1.6 billion kWh a year ago.
