MEXICO CITY (Reuters) -Mexico's Walmex, the local unit of U.S.-based retail giant Walmart, expects antitrust watchdog Cofece to soon announce its final ruling stemming from a probe into alleged anti-competitive practices, a senior executive said on Tuesday. "It will probably happen in just a few days or weeks," Javier Trevino, Walmex's senior vice president for corporate affairs, told reporters during a press conference. Later Alberto Sepulveda, the firm's Legal & Prevention senior vice-president, estimated the resolution will be announced "before the end" of October.
Amazon stock dropped amid a downgrade from Overweight to Equal Weight by Wells Fargo. Wells Fargo said Monday that Amazon's strength in the cloud services market won’t be enough to stave off hurdles: rising competition from Walmart, easing income from its advertising business, and high costs linked to its satellite project.
